Mice or Men?

I wonder what the world would be like if we raised all our kids with a back bone. There is this new fad where men now can act feminine and girls think it’s cute. Girls think it makes the men sensitive and open about their feelings. If I wanted a man who spilled his feelings out like a bleeding horse I’d date women. I have eight brothers-two military heroes, one heading there, all the rest have there own kick-butt activity. My youngest brother is seven and his favorite past time is walking around our five acres of wilderness and exploring. I ...

Destination

From the moment we take our first breath we begin to die, a slow decaying of flesh. The question one should ask is not when, but to what purpose do we live? For some people we live life as a test, so that one day we can meet our creator face to face. For others it’s just a time in their many lives to come, because there is never just one life to live for some. There are those who believe that we, humans, are just here and that one day we will die. We’ll go poof and that would ...

Education Indoctrination-Part 2

Update-9/19/08 The schools did pass out the TIME for kids starting McCain and it was fair. It was an interesting article that covered the Republican Convention and of course the devastating hurricanes. The articles are written in short and simple sentences which makes it easy for the younger kids to understand. So in all I was fine with the article but any material not school related should be discussed with the parents of elementary students before the students even see them. The reason I have a problem with this is because unless the parents pay attention to what their kids bring home, ...

Education Indoctrination

I don’t know how it works for you but in my state teachers tend to play the role of the babysitter instead of educator. I realize that with this opening statement I have already offended someone, but I call it like I see it. My family has seven kids all in the public school system attending three different schools in our district. My mother and I team up when it comes to keeping up with the indoctrination of our kids. If you ever meet me I’ll refer to my siblings as ‘my kids.’ I’ve always been known as their ‘second mom,’ ...

I will die before I forget September 11th

While I was on MySpace I noticed that out of my 500 friends only three people posted bulletins about 9/11. Three people took the time out of their day to express respect to the victims of 9/11. That’s why I wrote this to all my friends:   “Today is one of the saddest anniversaries that I celebrate every year. I read the new posts and see that only a few of your give the respect to the American's and few emigrants that died on 9/11. Please don’t ignore or forget that 9/11 happened. This is a day to remember, to teach your kids ...

To the victims of September 11th

I would like to open this article with a prayer:           -May God be with us on this day of remembrance. May he give us the strength of faith, the will to hope and a strong heart to endure during these times. Amen.- There are no words to express the emotions within me. I feel a great sadness for the loss of my brothers and sisters and a great pride for those of us who now fight for them. I have decided to express myself through a letter. This letter isn’t addressed to those reading it. It is addressed to those lost ...

I’m an American first, a republican second and a woman third.

After reading some emails and comments I realized the older generations and some of the young ones were already assuming that I’m just another clone. I resent that assumption but realize it’s a normal conclusion. I keep hearing that I should always check my information, research for myself and not take just one mans opinion on things. I agree and live by that advice. I always double check things. I thought about the comments and realized when I write about the Palin speech I didn’t write on what she said. When I watch speeches I’m not concerned with what they are ...

Sarah Palin-The next Vice President of the United States

Before I start I have to ask “Who saw the youngest Palin daughter holding her little brother in her arms? She licked her hand and then combed his hair making it look perfect for television.” I just thought that was adorable. Now, for the real cover of the speech. Tonight as I sat on my couch and ate my dinner I watched the first republican woman nominated for the Vice Presidency, Sarah Palin, speak. She came out and after minutes of a warming welcome from the audience Sarah Palin began her speech. Throughout the speech she looked relaxed and very much at home. ...

THANK YOU STEPHENIE MEYER

I’m here to voice my support for author Stephenie Meyer who has had a great injustice done to her. As all of us, her fans, know Stephenie as been working on Midnight Sun the first book in the Twilight series from Edwards’s point of view. Well, someone has taken over two hundred pages of an unfinished manuscript from Stephenie and shared it with everyone on the internet. Please read the letter Stephenie has written to us all:  Letter.   As a writer I know how it feels to have your work exposed before it is complete. Her characters were forced on stage ...

Palin and Bristol

When I first heard that Senator McCain chose Sarah Palin I wasn’t too thrilled and not because I didn’t like her but because I didn’t know her. I can’t say I’m crazy about her but I have to say she’s one hell of a woman. By now everyone knows her history, mom of five (one down syndrome), born and raised in Alaska, Ms. Congenitally winner, in shape, can shoot a gun, can fish, hockey mom, pro-life, and she has great hair. Sounds like a Superwoman. I don’t think anyone with integrity can say anything bad about her, not really anyways… Before I start talking ...
