The hanging Palin has been taken down. Maybe society is better than I thought-Thank God. Until Next Time, Brittany Simon

Hate Crimes Against Humanity

Throughout our history we have battled and fought for freedom of speech and expression but never did I think that the American people would not stand up against hate speech and crimes. I have to say I’m disappointed in everyone for not putting their foot down and stopping two people from their so-called “Freedom of speech.” For those who have not heard-two men in L.A. have decorated for Halloween like other families, only they crossed the line. As you can see from the picture above they have created a mannequin of the Presidential nominee John McCain and the Vice Presidential Nominee ...

Judging Others

Human beings are built with a natural instinct to automatically judge others. From the moment you meet someone for the first time you have already judged the way they look, how they style their hair and how they talk. It is in our nature to cling to those who are like us and to reject those who are different. Rejection isn’t always derived from hate; sometimes it happens through human inability to comprehend that different person. We were all raised hearing the saying, “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” ~Matthew (Ch. VII, v. 1) or some form of it. I ...

The Presidential Race: A Fight for Your Rights

I believe that during this Presidential election we the people deserve to know everything about the man/woman running for the highest office in the country. There have been constant complaints concerning the conduct of the two candidates, their supporters and the media’s response to all of it. I keep hearing that we have to keep this election clean, dignified and bring up issues that are appropriate. In other words certain subjects are off limits. This disturbs me. What issues could possibly be off limits in a presidential campaign? Don’t you think as an American citizen you deserve to ask any ...

Rejecting Your Child

A majority of people believe that abortion is a religious issue, this is wrong. Abortion is the killing of a baby in the womb from the point of conception to about six months. President Clinton signed into law Partial Birth Abortion which means a woman can kill her baby up to nine months in the womb. The only thing separating that baby from our world is layers of skin. President Bush came into office and reversed that law making it now illegal to kill your baby when you are that far along. So far I don’t see how religion plays ...

Who is Joe the plumber!?

It would seem that everyone is in a frenzy over one man, a man who challenged Mr. Obama-Joe the Plumber. I didn’t feel this story was as important as everyone made it because I already knew that Mr. Obama wanted to take my money and give it to the poor. I already knew that Mr. Obama believes himself to be Robin Hood. Which, I have to say makes Robin Hood look like the bad guy here. In reality Robin Hood stole from the men who stole from the poor and kept the money for themselves. In Mr. Obama’s world he ...

An American Movie

It would seem to me that that humor has the power to change minds faster then straight out logic. I believe the new comedy on the block “An American Carol,” has the power to do this. My parents and two of my ten siblings got in the car and drove to the only theater playing the movie. Out of four of our theaters only one of them was willing to host the movie. Now, me being the young person I am knows that on a Friday night the theater will be packed. My doubt was that “An American Carol,” wasn’t ...

Breaking America’s Foundation

As I watched Hannity and Colmes, yes I watch Fox News, Scott Rasmussen was the guest and they were discussing who was up in the polls. Currently Obama is just a few points ahead of McCain. Sean Hannity asked Mr. Rasmussen why Obama’s association with radical terrorists, pastors, and neighbors has no negative impact on the polls. Mr. Rasmussen then proceeded to say that the American people have a very “broad perception,” of presidential candidates. What a world we live in where the truth has never been so simply put. The emotion I felt at that moment was, from what I ...

The Power of Evil

Where we go, who we meet and the roads we travel in life all contribute to who we become. It isn’t a mystery that people are products of their environments. The real mystery is how humans become evil or good. There are those of us who were raised in a free-thinking society who understand that evil exists. There are others who were born into an evil atmosphere and get out, but there are those who stay and continue evil. There is no doubt that evil exists, the doubt is who and where the evil is. Through the current war with Iraq ...
