Unofficial Bio:
Is this on?…*Caughs. Okay, hey, My name is Brittany. I’m a professional human being. I’m the spawn of immigrant parents who traveled from the vast sands of Iraq to the busy streets of America. I’m also the 3rd oldest of 10 kids, trust me there’s never a dull moment. I believe fiction was created to escape the harsh realities of life (like drugs, only better). So, I hope my fiction to entertains, enlightens and satisfies you (like sex, only better).
I’m the third oldest of ten kids. There are eight boys and two girls. My two oldest brothers have served in the United States Military and I have another headed to the Marine Corps. I was born and raised in California-which I have to say I’m very proud about but sometimes I feel like putting a bag over my head. God knows California isn’t that bright when it comes to logical political moves. I have people who like me and people who hate me, I love them equally-they motivate me to continue doing what I do.
There is no doubt in my mind that I was born in America thanks to some luck and the power of God. My parents emigrated here from Iraq at separate times in their life. Then, years later they met up, fell in love, created a family and started a family business in engineering. Both of them have amazing stories of how they came here. My mothers, mother had seventeen live children, and her husband (my grandfather) was always on the run from extremists in Iraq. He fled them because he refused to conform to them. He was jailed, whipped, he lost family to the government and we made the choice to bring his wife and kids to America. Without my grandfathers strength my mother’s family would still be there and I wouldn’t be here.
My grandfather on my dads side of the family made the decision to move his family to America after my father was next to be drafted. My grandfather feared for my dad’s life, his third child out of eight. Being drafted into the army in Iraq was a life transforming, and not in the way it is here. Over there you better listen and do what you’re told. It doesn’t matter if they tell you to kill or rape, if you don’t do what you’re told you die. He brought his family over in the 1977 and created a life for them here.
My parents raised me with almost zero knowledge of their coulter. They didn’t even teach me their language. The only things I got out of their Chaldean culture was the food dancing, which is good enough for me. They raised me to know and love America, to be dedicated only to her. When you ask my parents who do they owe their loyalty first Iraq or America, it’s always America.
For the Red, White and Blue we live and die. For America we make the sacrifices to make her live on. For her we will do anything.
Until Next Time,
Brittany Simon
